FUENTE OVEJUNA
“Abuse of power. Oppression of women. Rebellion. Sacrifice. Love. What does it take to start a revolution? It takes a village: FUENTE OVEJUNA.”
Ducdame Ensemble's inaugural production, a new adaptation of Lope de Vega's classic, FUENTE OVEJUNA, was presented at the 2015 NY International Fringe Festival. The production was received universal critical praise (see PRESS), was named a “Best Bet’ of the festival, and garnered a 2015 FringeNYC Overall Excellence Award.
Ducdame Ensemble's FUENTE OVEJUNA centers around the surprising uprising of oppressed women against a tyrannical regime. The show runs 55 minutes with no intermission and was originally directed by Sundance London Award Winner, William Oldroyd.
